Manual Therapy

Skilled application of specialised techniques to reduce pain, restore proper movement and prevent further problems. Manual Therapy involves hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisations, soft tissue massage and mobilisation, and trigger point therapy.

Manual Therapy can include manipulation which is a controlled quick movement of a joint, often producing a clicking sound which must be performed by a physiotherapist with specialist training.

Muscle Balance

Highly motivated clients wanting to prevent or treat movement problems. Valuable for anyone performing repetitive activities in sport, work or play. Useful for children experiencing tendon and joint pains from growth related causes.

Postural Correction

Assessment of your posture and muscle imbalances, with recommendations for taking control of and improving your total structural health. Postural correction is the first step to breaking poor postural habits and reducing stress and strain on your body.

Pilates

A system of exercising promoting balance , strength and flexibility following the method of Joseph Pilates. Can be learnt individually or in group sessions and practised at home as well.

Clients of all ages & abilities. Pilates can be either preventative or rehabilitative.

Breathing

Tuition to restore normal breathing patterns – good breathing means moving air in and out of the chest with minimum effort, using the diaphragm to its best advantage.

Clients experiencing symptoms of hyperventilation, dizziness, excessive yawning & sighing, exhaustion, chest tightness or pain, palpitations, irregular breathing.

Exercise Prescription

Programme of exercises, either supervised or carried out at home, which ensure a clients complete rehabilitation. Includes falls prevention, return to gym, functional reactivation & pre & post surgical treatment. (Gym charges may apply)

Massage Therapy

A system of stroking, pressing and kneading soft tissue.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

TCM uses practices such as herbs, meditation, massage and acupuncture and seeks to aid healing by restoring the yin-yang balance and the flow of qi along pathways known as meridians.

Clients experiencing a variety of medical problems, including menstrual problems, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, insomnia, fatigue, stress, anxiety or musculoskeletal injuries.
