Yoga has a focus on structural alignment of the physical body. Yoga is suitable for all ages and abilities with the use of props and the ability to modify specific movements depending on injury, illness or ability.

What is Yoga?

Yoga has a focus on structural alignment of the physical body. It aims to bring the body, mind and spirit together for health and well-being through the development of ‘asana’ and ‘pranayama’. Asana is the performance of posture with a focus on detail, precision and alignment. Pranayama is the breathing control that is developed through the practice of asana poses and movement. They both combine to develop strength, mobility and stability.

Yoga is suitable for all ages and abilities with the use of props and the ability to modify specific movements depending on injury, illness or ability.

Our instructors
Are qualified yoga teachers and have all been teaching and practising yoga for a number of years. They also teach other classes outside of Ponsonby Physio.

Our classes
Yin Yoga class with Myofascial Release. Every Wednesday 6pm – 7pm with instructor Celia Loo.  Beginners are welcome to join this 1 hour class.

All mats & props are provided.
