COVID-19 Update: Our clinic is open under Alert Level 2. Please  CLICK HERE for full details.

The Clinic is open at Alert Level 2

Under Alert Level 2 the Ponsonby Physiotherapy clinic is re-open for in-person appointments. Telehealth appointments will also remain available over this time. All appointment types can be booked through our online booking system, or just contact the clinic to arrange a time.

What you need to know for your in-person appointment

At Alert level 2, we will have in place a screening process before you arrive. This will be a series of short questions to be answered at the time of booking, or if booked online, a phone call will be made to you prior to your appointment time.

Our team will wear PPE gear when treating older or more vulnerable clients. And as part of our screening process we will ask if an individual patient would prefer for the physiotherapist to wear a mask. Social distancing will still be in place, however because we have appropriate contact tracing we are able to be within 1m of patients.

On arrival at the clinic please wait outside or in your car, until given a text message or motioned by your physio to enter the practice. We ask that patients wash hands or hand sanitise on arrival into the clinic.

We have always followed quite thorough cleaning processes, but we will be increasing these further during Alert Level 2. This will include cleaning of treatment rooms and beds immediately after every patient consult.

We ask patients that if they are feeling unwell to postpone their face to face appointment to another day, or opt to have a Telehealth consult instead.

Strict Cleaning & Hygiene Regime

We ask that all patients either wash hands or use our hand sanitiser before entering our treatment rooms. Physiotherapists will wash hands before and after treating patients as per usual. Frequently used surfaces such as door handles, eftpos machine, clip boards and gym equipment with be cleaned frequently. Beds will be wiped down at the end of each consult and so forth. To allow for this additional cleaning we will be allocating more time between patients to allow for this to occur. The clinic will also be professionally cleaned twice weekly.

Social Distancing in the Clinic and in Group Classes

In order to allow for appropriate social distancing, the number of people in the waiting room at one time will be restricted. Patients will wait outside or in their car, until signalled by their physio to enter the practice. There will be a maximum of 3 patients in the gym area with their physiotherapists at any one time.

Our Group Classes will be running under Alert Level 2. However, there will be a maximum of 4 people per class, plus one physiotherapist.

Special Circumstances

This is a difficult time for many and we want to support you where possible. As part of this we are offering new patients to the clinic a voucher that they can give to someone they know who might be struggling but needs some physio care, and in return they will receive $10.00 off their next appointment.

For our existing patient community, please talk to your physio if you are struggling and if we are able to, we will do our best to assist you at this time.

If you have any other questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact our team. You can email, or call us on 09 378 6890.
